Next Union Meeting:

The next Union Meeting will be a Notified Meeting Friday, December 14th, 2018, held at 5:30pm, in the Meeting Hall, at 2300 East River Road. This meeting is notified for discussion and vote on the 89th pension amendment. The meeting will be followed by a buffet dinner.

4th Annual Coat and Can Drive:

Please help us collect coats and nonperishable goods for the holiday season.  All donations will be sent to Daily Bread Food Pantry located at Redeem Bethel Church, Williamson, NY.  From now until December 18th, drop off at JATC or Union Hall.  Sponsored by the JATC 5th year class of 2019.  Contact the JATC at (585) 235-5050 for more information.

24th Annual Kiddie Christmas Party:

The Annual Kiddie Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 15th at the Local 86 Union Hall from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  We would like to invite children and grandchildren ages birth to 10 years old of members and retirees only.  Reservations must be made no later than Monday, December 10th, to ensure that there are enough age appropriate gifts purchased for every child.  Please RSVP by calling (585) 235-1510 extension #1302.  Make sure to leave the member or retiree’s name, along with each child’s name and age.  There will be NO reservations taken after the cut-off date.

Gun Raffle:

We have a Remington 870 and a Savage 110 hunter that we are raffling off. Tickets are sold at the Union Meetings or by seeing Dan O’Mealia at the Hall. Guns will be raffled off at the December Union Meeting, you do not need to be present to win.

2019 International Dues Increase:

The Delegates of the 39th I.B.E.W. International Convention, which was conducted in St. Louis, Missouri during the week of September 19th through September 23rd, 2016, approved several amendments to Article IX of the I.B.E.W. Constitution. Accordingly, effective January 1, 2019, there will be an increase of one dollar ($1.00) for the I.B.E.W. pension fund, which applies to “A” members only.  This will increase your 2019 Dues to $43.50 monthly or $130.50 quarterly or $522.00 yearly.  For more information contact us at (585) 235-1510.

Vacation Freeze:

The vacation fund will be frozen on December 31st, 2018 for year-end close-out check processing.  As a result, the last day to withdraw your vacation funds this year will be Friday, December 28th, no exceptions.  As a reminder, vacation withdrawals must be requested with 24-hour notice.  Your check will be available for pick up at noon of the following day.  Any withdrawal requests must be made by the member and signed for by the member.

IBEW LOCAL 86 4th Annual Chili Cook Off:

The IBEW Local 86 4th Annual Chili Cook Off will be Sunday, January 13th. Doors open at 12:00 PM.  Come watch playoff football, play cards, and taste all the chili (you could be the winner if you enter).  Bring an appetizer if you’d like and be sure to bring your appetite.

2019 WGA:

The WGA will be held in Buffalo next year. Anyone interested in playing contact Greg Post or Dan O’Mealia.  All entries must be in by February 1st, 2019.

NEBF Pension:

Please call the Union Office a full six months before you reach age 62 to set up an appointment to start processing your pension application (585) 235-1510.

Kodak & Xerox Training:

Xerox Training – Is held at Bldg. 335 at 7:30 am on Mondays.
