Next Union Meeting:

The next Union Meeting will be, Wednesday, May 10th, held at 5:30pm, in the Meeting Hall, at 2300 East River Road.

Upcoming OSHA 10 & 30 Course Dates:

The following OSHA courses will be at the JATC.  Please contact the JATC office at (585) 235-5050 to reserve your seat.

OSHA 30 – April 24th from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm, April 29th from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm, May 2nd from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm, May 6th from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm, May 9th from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm and May 13th from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm.  You MUST attend ALL classes.

OSHA 10:  May 30th from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm, June 1st from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm and June 6th from 4:30 – 8:30 pm.  You MUST attend ALL classes.

Asbestos Awareness Course:

There will be an Asbestos Awareness course held on April 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Union Hall.  Please call (585) 235-5050 to reserve your seat.

JATC:

James Versprille Scholarship:

Any member who has a son or daughter who will graduate this year from high school and wants to apply for scholarship help from this fund should contact the office for an application.  For your convenience applications are available on the Local 86 website at ibewlu86.org.  Completed applications must be returned to the business office no later than 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017.  The Executive Board of Local 86 will review all the applications that night at the Executive Board meeting.

Red Wings Tickets:

Local 86 has purchased four box seats for the Red Wings 2017 season.  Your dues must be paid through the date of the game you are requesting and you can only reserve one game.  Tickets will be reserved on a first come/first serve basis. Claybuster League:

The Local 86 Claybuster League will begin on Wednesday, May 3rd at the Rochester Brooks Gun Club, located on Honeoye Falls #6 Road.  Shooting times will start at 5:00 p.m.  Sporting clays is what we are shooting.  Beginner or novice does not matter; we are just here to enjoy ourselves.  We go out in groups of 5 to 7 shooters and walk the course.  Bring at least two boxes of shells (#7 ½ or 8’s) and a few extras for broken birds (we shoot 50 birds for score each night).  We invite all members of the Building Trades to come out and join us.  You need 8 shoots or (400 targets) to qualify for the shoot-off and make-ups are allowed.  It will be made up of 4 shoots on yellow (easier) course and 4 on the blue (harder) course to get a better average score.  The season lasts to early August and ends with a dinner and prizes.  There is a one-time $10.00 fee for non-Members of the Rochester Brooks paid at the beginning of the season, plus fees for each night you shoot.  If you have not shot at Rochester Brooks, the gun club has a new wireless system with a new ID card to pay before you shoot.  So, you need to sign up before you shoot.  For more information call Scott Cruickshank at (585) 576-1451 or email at scruickshank@rochester.rr.com.  It’s a fun time.  Hope to see you out there!

Xerox Training – Is held at Bldg. 335 at 7:30am on Mondays.
