Next Union Meeting:
The next Union Meeting will be a Regular Meeting Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, held at 5:30 p.m., in the Meeting Hall, at 2300 East River Road.
2017 Chevy Malibu:
We are accepting sealed bids from members of I.B.E.W., Local 86 for the 2017 Chevy Malibu. The vehicle has approximately 35,000 miles. If you would like to check it out, contact the Union Office at (585) 235-1510. Minimum bid is $11,500.00. Sealed bids must be received at the Union Office, addressed to the Executive Board, no later than Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 at 3 p.m.
2020 International Dues Increase:
The Delegates of the 39th I.B.E.W. International Convention, which was conducted in St. Louis, Missouri during the week of September 19th through September 23rd, 2016, approved several amendments to Article IX of the I.B.E.W. Constitution. Accordingly, effective January 1st, 2020, there will be an increase of one dollar ($1.00) for the I.B.E.W. per capita, which applies to all members. This will increase your 2020 dues to $44.50 monthly or $133.50 quarterly or $534.00 yearly. For more information contact the Union office at (585) 235-1510.
Local 86 Meat Raffle:
The Local 86 Meat Raffle will be held Friday, January 24th, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at MicGinny’s on the River located at 2246 East River Road Rochester, NY 14623. All proceeds will be donated to Wilmot Cancer Center. All meat is USDA certified beef.
Local 86 Night at Blue Cross Arena:
Rochester Americans vs Laval Rocket, Friday, January 24th, 2020, 7:05 p.m. start. Tickets are available at the Union office. First come, first served.
Anyone interested in attending the 2020 WGA in Detroit, MI must contact Greg Post or Dan O’Mealia by January 31st, 2020. Non-WGA members must pay a $5.00 entry fee.
Local 86 Ice Fishing Derby:
The Local 86 Ice Fishing Derby will be held February 22nd, 2020 on Sodus Point. Weigh in at 4 p.m. at The Franklin House Tavern 8184 Sentell St, Sodus Point. Derby open to all with valid NYS fishing license. NYS fishing laws apply. Proceeds to benefit OASIS Adaptive Sports. Tickets are $10 each.
Upcoming classes at the JATC:
All classes will be held at the JATC. Contact the JATC at (585) 235-5050 for more information and to register.
- Membership Education will be held Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.
- CPA/First Aid will be held on Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 will be held in February 2020.
Sunshine Club/Hardship Fund:
This Organization was founded to help the members of Local Union 86. As a member of the Sunshine Club, you are eligible for two (2) $75.00 checks and a $50.00 Holiday check, if you meet the requirements. The Hardship Fund is to help a Brother or Sister who is in need during hard times. At this time the Officers of the Sunshine Club have made a By-Laws change. Any member of Local Union 86 who requests help from the Hardship Fund must be a current member of the Local Union 86 Sunshine Club. If the member is not a current member your request will be denied. The cost of membership is $6.00 for 2020. If you are interested simply make a check out to “The Sunshine Club” for $6.00 and mail it to: The Sunshine Club, 2300 E. River Rd., Rochester, NY 14623 along with the form below. A membership card will then be mailed to you.
